Born on August 12, 1968, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi is a celebrated figure from Niger State, Nigeria, known for his distinguished service as a Senator representing the Niger North Senatorial District in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi completed his secondary schooling at Borgu Secondary School in New Bussa in 1984. He then pursued higher education at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, earning a degree in Veterinary Science in 1992. Abdullahi continued his academic journey as a lifelong learner at the University of Calabar and Ogun State University to further expand his expertise.
Abdullahi started his professional journey as a veterinary research officer from 1992 to 2006. His unwavering dedication to public service and development led him to serve as the Special Assistant and Head of the Planning and Institutional Development Department.
In 2015, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi ran for the Niger North Senatorial District seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and won the election. During his senatorial tenure, Abdullahi significantly contributed to Nigeria’s development and diligently represented his constituents with integrity.
As a senator, Abdullahi was the chairman of the Senate Committee on Media & Public Affairs Commission, playing a vital role in fostering communication and transparency within the Senate. Additionally, he was vice chairman of the Senate Services Committee, ensuring the smooth operation of the legislative body.
Recognizing his leadership and dedication to public service, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi was nominated as a Ministerial nominee, representing Niger’s aspirations and potential. Furthermore, he was recently appointed as the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
