35. Provision relating to donations and contributions received before 1 January 2011
For the avoidance of doubt,—
- any provision in this Act that amends the principal Act in respect of the amount of a donation or contribution does not apply to any donation or contribution received before 1 January 2011; and
- section 210(6A) of the principal Act (as inserted by section 27(7) of this Act) does not apply to any donation received before 1 January 2011.
36. Transitional elections
- In this section, a transitional election is—
- a general election in respect of which—
- polling day is a date after the commencement day but before 31 March 2011; and
- the regulated period would, had this Act been in force, have commenced before the commencement day:
- a by-election in respect of which the regulated period would, had this Act been in force, have commenced before the commencement day.
- a general election in respect of which—
- In the case of a transitional election, the provisions of the Electoral Act 1993 apply as if this Act had not been enacted.
- In this section, commencement day means the day on which this Act comes into force.
Amendment Act 5. Electoral (Administration) Amendment Act 2011
1. Title
This Act is the Electoral (Administration) Amendment Act 2011.
2. Commencement
- The following come into force on 1 July 2012:
- subpart 2 of Part 1:
- subpart 2 of Part 2.
- The rest of this Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3. Principal Act amended
This Act amends the Electoral Act 1993.
