He worked for Origin International LLC, a flavour and fragrance manufacturer in Atlanta, Georgia, as vice president from 1990 to 1994.
Ademola Adeleke contributes to the well-being of his neighbourhood and the world. His brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, who passed away in April 2017, inspired him to enter politics in 2001. After his brother passed away, he decided to run in the 2017 Osun West by-election and eventually won the seat for the People’s Democratic Party. Ademola Adeleke joined the People’s Democratic Party in April 2017 after previously being a member of the All Progressives Congress. On July 23, 2018, Ademola Adeleke defeated Akin Ogunbiyi, the PDP’s candidate for governor of Osun State, by a margin of seven votes.
Ademola Adeleke’s governorship bid was put to an end when he was accused of forging his secondary school transcript and WAEC results. Ademola Adeleke’s testimony to INEC, dated July 20, 1988, has its heading stating Ede Muslim Grammar School, Osun State, even though Osun state did not exist at the time. The SSCE results provided in the testimonial further demonstrate that this particular examination format did not exist in 1981. A second testimonial, dated 2018 and bearing the heading Ede Muslim High School, suggests that the same principal who signed the first testimonial in 1988 also signed the second testimonial, leading to the principal’s detention. Since the plaintiff’s forgery could not be proven, the court dismissed his lawsuit. His attorney argued that the case should be dropped because no one from his high school had come forward to contradict his testimony. Testimony in court indicated that no one saw him enter the examination room. Because he was a famous person, one of the witnesses said, he would have easily recognised him.
Ademola Adeleke, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), ran for governor of Nigeria’s Osun State on September 22, 2018, facing off against Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Iyiola Omisore of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). There will be a runoff election on September 27, 2018, after the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) declared inconclusive results. Gboyega Oyetola, the candidate for the APC, was declared the victor after the runoff. Ademola Adeleke said the election was a “coup” and criticised the result. On March 22, 2019, the Abuja tribunal declared Ademola Adeleke the election’s winner. Ademola Adeleke defeated Gboyega Oyetola, the sitting governor, in the gubernatorial election held on July 16, 2022, by a vote of 402,979 to 375,077. Olorunda, Ede South, Orolu, Odo Otin, Osogbo, Atakumosa, Ifelodun, Boluwaduro, and Ila are just a few of the 17 LGAs where Ademola Adeleke won.
