Charles Soludo is a well-respected economist and politician in Nigeria. He has been the fifth democratic governor of Anambra State since March 17, 2022. Charles Chukwuma Soludo is his full name; he was born on July 28th, 1960. Charles Soludo is the current chairman of the board of directors at Nigeria’s central bank. He previously served as the bank’s governor. He became head of the central bank on May 29, 2004. Peter Obi defeated him in an election that was largely seen as free and fair.
Charles Soludo is viewed as an economic policy expert in Nigeria due to his domination as CBN governor. Commentators urged 2011 contenders to cooperate with prominent economists like Charles Soludo to build an economic policy. Charles Soludo resigned from the People’s Democratic Party on 17 July 2013 in a letter to Bamanga Tukur. To run for Anambra governor in November 2013, he joined the APGA. The APGA Screening Committee dismissed him and five other qualifying applicants in mid-August 2013. Three police officers were slain on 31 March 2021 when unknown gunmen interrupted Charles Soludo’s meeting with Isuofia youth. On 9 November 2021, the Independent National Electoral Commission named Charles Soludo governor-elect of Anambra State. He got a certificate of return on November 13, 2021. On 17 March 2022, Charles Soludo became Anambra’s fifth governor. During the inaugural event, Ebele Obiano, the wife of former Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano, and Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the wife of Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, got into a fight.
